WHAT IS ELEMENTS?

Focus on “Static Pole” which is the predominant pole mode used for Russian Exotic style dance and training. Learn new exotic tricks, transitions, combinations, power moves, floor to pole elements, conditioning techniques, and break down movements that will be later used in Russian Exotic choreography classes.

This is your chance to get stronger in your elements and to be guided through proper form and technique. This will make moves you have been struggling with easier and help achieve moves you have been dreaming of getting.

Take your time to learn and master the elements of Russian Exotic without having to memorize and keep up with an entire choreographed class routine.

THE 2 PARTS OF ELEMENTS

THE WARMUP
Are you ready? High intensity, jumping, conditioning, muscle building warm up. It is important as athletes, to develop strength, stamina and work to achieve peak fitness levels. Russian Exotic fit style is a demanding sport, similar to gymnastics and calisthenics; the techniques and skills we desire to achieve on and on the pole take full body mastery. Our warm up will help you gain the strength to control and safely perform challenging pole elements.

What to wear? Warm up is done without shoes on a yoga mat. As the class progresses we may do some floor to pole warming up which requires socks to glide on the floor.

THE ELEMENTS
The elements portion of class is taught in heels, with the option to remove heels as a cautionary learning measure. At KISKA, we believe to truly master Russian Exotic elements and be ready to perform them in choreography, students must begin feeling comfortable dancing in and out of elements from the start. As we learn new exotic tricks, transitions, combinations, power moves and floor to pole elements we require students to practice and master moves  on both their strong side and their weak side.

What to wear? After the warm up, students will be given time to put on “strips” (8 inch platform heels) and to remove sweatshirts or pants. It is important students bare as much skin as possible, as we will need skin to grip and safely work through dangerous new pole tricks and transitions.
