Take your time to learn and master the elements of Russian Exotic without having to memorize and keep up with an entire choreographed class routine.
Are you ready? High intensity, jumping, conditioning, muscle building warm up. It is important as athletes, we develop strength and stamina and work to achieve peak fitness levels. Russian Exotic fit style is a demanding sport, compared to gymnastics and calisthenics; the techniques and skills we desire to achieve on and on the pole take full body mastery. Our warm up will help you gain the strength and control to safely perform challenging pole elements.
Our warm up is done without shoes on a yoga mat. As the class progresses we may do some floor to pole warming up which requires socks to glide on the floor.
The elements portion of class is taught in heels, with the option to remove heels as a cautionary learning measure. At KISKA, we believe to truly master Russian Exotic elements and be ready to perform them in choreography, students must begin feeling comfortable dancing in and out of elements from the start. As we learn new exotic tricks, transitions, combinations, power moves and floor to pole elements we require students to practice and master moves on both their strong side and their weak side.
After the warm up, students will be given time to put on “strips” ( 7-8 inch platform heels) and to remove sweatshirts or leggings. It is important students bare as much skin as possible, as we will need skin to grip and safely work through dangerous new pole tricks and transitions.
